Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe all have fallen short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.

We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day.

We believe all who have accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, repented of their sin should be baptized with water through immersion in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

Core Values

Prayer Life

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4 NIV

“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.  Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”. James 5:13-18 NIV

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours”. Mark 11:24 NIV

Serving Others

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.1 Peter 4:10-11 NIV

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me. They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ Matthew 25:40-45 NIV

Blessing Upon Others

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17 NIV

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38 NIV

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”. Numbers 6:24-26 NIV

About Ray Peeples

Raised in Detroit, Michigan, with a loving family of four to parents whom believed in hard work. Surrounded by grandparents where the gospel was a big part of their lives, but just a passing idea in mine until decades later. Although there was a single moment in my life, that burned an image upon me that still exist today as if it happened yesterday. One evening I was staying with my grandparents and arouse from bed for a glass of water. Upon entering the kitchen, I saw my grandfather, known as "bid daddy" sitting at the kitchen table and open before him was a huge white bible. Little did I know then that today, I would be a pastor and have resting upon my night stand a similar sized bible which is my reminder. A reminder that God is with us, even when we are not searching or following Him.

Today, I’m still blown away that I’m a pastor. Although, I will tell you right up front, I’m not your typical pastor. I make no apologies for the blessings of the Lord. All praise, glory, and thanks to Him for everything He does and how I’ve been blessed. Additional thanks for all the godly people who surround me, hold me accountable for my actions, praying constantly for me and those whom I have the humble honor to surround and pray for.

The Gospel ownership is not a me thing; it is an us thing. We each own the sharing about the good news of Jesus Christ and the Word of God (the Bible). We each have an earthly assignment and need to meet people where they are in life. As the apostle Paul wrote, “To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you” (1 Corinthians 9:22-23).

I’ve made countless mistakes, multiple times, but our Lord is forgiving and faithful. He can turn any situation around and use us beyond our wildest dreams and imagined thoughts. We all have experienced or will experience difficulties in this short period of time that we will spend on earth. A time of joy, happiness, sadness, struggles, and pains, but we are not bound to it. Yet, we have a shelter, place of comfort, peace, wisdom, guidance, and unwavering love, a love that our Lord Jesus Christ offers to each and every one of us. We really don’t like anyone telling us how we should live our lives. The most difficult part for many will be accepting what is placed before us in the Bible (i.e. Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth).

About Bibi Peeples

Born in Guyana South America, raised as an only child with mom and dad. At the age of four moved to Surinam, known as Dutch Guyana (South America). Dad worked as road engineer for the next few years and I went to school in Surinam, where I was fluent in Dutch and Hindi, I also spoke Taki Taki. Which is the creole language for Javanese. Growing up in a Islamic household I also learned how to reach Arabic, I was reading the Quran at the ten. My parents were never strict with me when I came to fasting during the month of Ramadan, they just wanted me to do what I could. Few years later we were sponsored to come to the US. I mastered the languages of Suriname but didn’t know any English. My parents decided to send me back to Guyana to learn English, there I went to school while living with relatives. Nine months went by and I developed some English right before moving to the New York City at the age of ten.

Starting school was a struggle. I was forced to communicate in English only. As time went by I lost the talent for speaking Dutch or Taki Taki, but still spoke Hindi and that’s only because of Indian movies. As for my religious faith my parents always encourage the teachings of all religions. Going to Mosque was only on occasion since moving to New York City, aside from praying at home or having a prayer held at home or attending family prayers. I enjoyed being around the community, but as I got older I started to realize that the community was not for me. When I turned 18 my father gave me a Bible and Quran and told me to "choose my own faith, as long as you have God in you".

Today, I have to say that all my emptiness has been filled. All my adulthood I went through life feeling content because I thought that was it. Who would have known that my life was about to make a full 360. I was invited to church, I was shy than scared. So I decided and went...It was one of the best decision I have made in my life. The best decision would be to marry the most amazing man I know, my husband Ray. In the past I was invited to other church and went but never had the feeling I felt on that day at Faith Assembly of God. Ever had that feeling where all the knots in your stomach became loose and you could breathe. Well that was the most amazing experience for me. Since that day I have been attending every Sunday and I feel lost if I miss a Sunday. I was always thought that it's not where you pray, as long as you pray. I think about my life now and I realized that I was lost for the past 30 years. I am found. I am saved. I am blessed. Thank you Jesus...Amen, Amen and Amen.

Ray and I have five beautiful kids (Marnier, Aneeza, Kyle, Zameena, and Shakeera).
